Oops! Made the mistake of watching TV in real time again.

Kristen's mom had been telling us about a new show on TV she started watching called 'The Middle' and wanted us to check it out.

Well, I'm not sure if they just had an off episode or if the show is always this lame but I was bored out of my mind. Half exhausted, half in awe of my 10 day old son in my arms, I was in the mood for a good laugh. I didn't get a single one. But since I was comfortable and Kristen and I were kinda talking through the show anyway we left the TV on for the next show, 'Better With You' at least I think that's what it was called.

Another dud.

Reaching the point of irritation with how lame the 2nd sitcom was, I made my exit and head to Target to grab a few groceries. When I returned, Kristen had made her way to TLC and 'Sister Wives'. Intriguing from what I can tell, but I don't know if I'll make it through an entire episode.

After putting the groceries away and finally settling in on the couch comes Kat and 'LA Ink'. The faux reality of this show just kills me.

I'm about 5 minutes into it and I'm ready to just throw a hammer at the TV.

As you may of noticed by now I don't really enjoy much TV. I mostly use my TV for the Roku and primarily to listen to MOG or Pandora and watch the occasional movie of Netflix or Amazon.

I watch so little TV that it's hard for me to believe that 1) people watch this crap and 2.) these shows were green lighted.

Many people signed off on creating multiple episodes of turd and millions tune in.

Blows my mind.

Mental Note: stop watching TV in real time it's slowly sucking out your soul.

Yikes!

It's a small and interconnected world out there...

So this morning I went to a customer who was referred to me by another customer of mine. He had a MacBook Pro and MacBook that had water damage and needed data recovered. No Problem, the drive's are still in pretty good shape. As I'm transferring data we get to talking. He's into music, me to. He's in to tech, Me to. He was a former CEO of AOL Canada... Um... I once had a song placed in a Nissan commercial? Doesn't quite match up, I know. He's Canadian, I'm going to Canada Tomorrow! We both read Bob Lefsetz! We both know some of the same people in the music industry. He's shifting out of the tech world and into the Music world; developing a Jam band and starting an All-in tech savvy management company, I'm shifting away from music (as a source of income) and more into the tech industry (as a source of income.) He dig's Drum and Bass, I made Drum and Bass. It goes on and on. None the less I get back to the office to enter his info in my address book and find a press release about him on line. The press release was written by the person who referred me to him. It sure is a small interconnected world at times.

It's getting kinda sad when you become less productive when the internet goes down.

I was working on multiple projects; entering data in FMP, composing an Email, and helping a customer through iChat screen sharing when the internet went down. Then I found my self searching for something productive to do that was work related. It was kinda hard because I was really focused on the three projects I had going on. This is definitely the down side of the cloud. Abut 10 years ago, when I worked at a CD import/export company in Miami, we used to shout out "Everybody out of the pool" when the system went down, then wander off to go get some coffee or heckle the IT guys or more specifically, the developers who were trying to work out the bugs in said system. It used to make me laugh. Now it makes me wonder how much time/money I'm losing. Amazing what a difference 10 years will make.

Install Damn You!!!

I've been watching this 10.5.8 update for about 30 minutes now and 10 of those minutes have said about 2 minutes remaining. Seems like most of these 10 minutes have been spent on updating the reciepts file.

This update is happing on a 1.8 GHz PPC G5 and the drive speed is 5400

It's billable time, but I wish it was a bit faster.
